Rich Gould, from Wiltshire, UK, has over 175,000 nautical miles in his log book, many of which have been accrued from his time with the Clipper Race. This will be the fourth edition that Rich has been involved in. He took part in 2011-12 as a Yachtmaster, was a Clipper Race Skipper in 2013-14 and skippered Legs 7 and 8 in 2015-16.
Spending his whole career on the water, Rich started out teaching watersports in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, going on to be a RYA instructor. He has also been involved in coaching future Race Crew since 2010 and as a Training Skipper since 2012. For the Clipper 2019-20 Race edition, he has been a Skipper for levels 1-4 of training. Outside of the race, Rich has managed private deliveries of a Swan 80 super yacht including across Atlantic crossings.
Rich will join the WTC Logistics team in Fremantle on 20 December. The fleet is currently berthed at Fremantle Sailing Club following the conclusion of Leg 3 and ahead of the start Leg 4, on 22 December, to the Whitsundays.
