2020 has been a very challenging year, particularly for offshore racing, and sadly we were forced to cancel the 2020 RORC Season's Point Championship - there have therefore been a number of changes and additions to the programme.

In an effort to get people out racing we introduced the RORC Summer Series which commenced with a very successful 'Race the Wight' on 1st August and continued on Saturday (22nd August) with the final race on 6th September. The races are intended to be long day races with crews limited to six in total, or two thirds of the IRC crew number (rounded down), whichever is the least.
Similarly, we have launched the Two-Handed Autumn Series which will be a series of 20-24 hour offshore races for double handed crews on the following dates: Friday 4th September (to replace the cancelled Cherbourg Race), Saturday 26th September and Saturday 10th October.
A reminder also that we are still running the IRC National Championship over the period of 11/13 September for which crews are limited to 80% (rounded to the nearest whole number) of a boat’s IRC crew number and alongside this the IRC Two-Handed National Championship on the 12/13 September. In an effort to welcome new crews to both events we have removed the requirement for endorsed certificates for the IRC National Championship (for this year only) and also dropped the lower rating limit for the IRC Two-Handed National Championship to allow all smaller boats to participate.
We also look forward to welcoming all J Boats to the Landsail Tyres J-Cup 2020 which will be held in Cowes from 3-5 September.
Looking further ahead we sincerely hope that our racing programme for 2021 remains unaffected and as such all races are currently planned as scheduled. In particular, this includes the RORC Transatlantic Race (9th January 2021), RORC Caribbean 600 (22nd February 2021) and the 2021 Rolex Fastnet Race (8 August 2021) as well as all of our regular events and races.
