Exactly 24 hours before the start of the world's longest and toughest sporting event, The Ocean Race, Ulysse Nardin Ambassador and Freediver Fred Buyle took on the challenge of climbing the 90ft mast of 11th Hour Racing Team's boat 'Mālama'.
Visiting the Ocean Live Park in Alicante on behalf of Ulysse Nardin, the Official Timekeeper of both 11th Hour Racing Team and The Ocean Race, Buyle said:
"I really don't like heights, so it was a tough challenge. I'm so used to being beneath the surface, and I much prefer that as opposed to being 90ft above the ground! But this has really been an amazing experience, and it's an amazing boat."
What to find out what message Fred left at the top of the mast for the team before they set off around the world?
