Interviews with Richard Fromentin and Jean-Pierre Dick on Cocody's IRC One victory
Aerial footage from helicopter/drone, start, finish and dockside arrival coverage
Richard Fromentin’s JPK 1180 Cocody (FRA) secured a decisive victory in the IRC One class, finishing over four hours ahead of Andrew & Sam Hall’s Lombard 46 Pata Negra (GBR). Last year's champion, Hound (USA), followed, trailing Pata Negra by an hour after IRC time correction.
The race presented a complex challenge filled with 'traps' due to island wind shadows and shifting weather conditions. Fromentin credited Jean Pierre Dick's expertise as pivotal in navigating these obstacles and gaining an advantage over two competing JPK 1180s, Sunrise and Dawn Treader. Cocody's victory, reminiscent of their coastal racing experience in Brittany, underscores the team's tactical acumen and adaptability.
